Bij het bezoekerscentrum van Staatsbosbeheer is wandelgebied de Driehoek.
Met een aantal schuilhutten en uitkijkplaatsen tussen riet, water en dood hout is het gebied uiterst geschikt voor vogel spotten. Ik was er een ochtend samen met mijn dochter Anouk en genoten van de opvallende Blauwborst.
Op z’n mooist is hij in het voorjaar. Net terug uit Afrika vliegt hij dan snel van de ene naar de andere uitkijkpost en zingt z’n mooiste lied. Iets later als hij een vrouwtje heeft versiert is hij minder fel gekleurd, stiller en schuwer. Leeft van insecten en bessen.
Vogelweetje: Hun nest is op de grond tussen de vegetatie. Na veertien dagen komen de eieren uit waarna beide ouders voor de opvoeding zorgen.
OOSTVAARDERS-PLASSEN, THE BLUETHROAT
The Triangle walking area is located at the visitor center of the State Forest Service.
With a number of hiding places and lookout places between reeds, water and dead wood, the area is ideal for bird watching. I was there one morning with my daughter Anouk and enjoyed the striking Bluethroat.
It is at its most beautiful in the spring. Just back from Africa, he quickly flies from one lookout point to another and sings his best song. A little later when he has adorned a female, he is less brightly colored, quieter and more shy. He eats insects and berries.
Bird fact: Their nest is on the ground among the vegetation. After fourteen days the eggs hatch, after which both parents provide the education.
